The Sheriff’s Patrol was able to go one on one with the young man who is most often between the pipes for your Bismarck Bobcats, goalie Johnny Roberts, who is a native of Philadelphia, Pa.

Roberts said the Bobcats are building a family atmosphere in the beginning weeks of the NAHL season with their 5-3 start. That has them in a third place tie with Aberdeen, but only two points behind the first place Minot Minotauros in the Central Division. The Bobcats split their home and home series with Minot this last weekend, and they face each other again next weekend in another home and home series.

Roberts had nothing but glowing remarks about his head coach Layne Sedevie teaching him about being a better goalie. Everyday he receives tips from Sedevie, a former college goalie himself, for improving his overall game. Roberts is giving up 2.61 goals a game, while compiling a 92.3 save percentage in net for all of the Bobcats eight games so far.

Roberts has not decided on a college at this time, as he is focused on the current Bobcat season. He feels that his college decision will fall into place at the right time when it does.

The Sheriff’s Patrol would like to wish Mr. Roberts the best of luck the remainder of the Bobcat season and in his future hockey career.
