Former Avalanche Goalie May Be Coming Back

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)
Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

Most of you may remember the days of Patrick Roy in the net for the Avalanche, especially against the Detroit Red Wings. This might not be the right move for the Avalanche to make, because you may remember him as a great player but sometimes players don’t turn out to be good coaches. According to Sirius XM Radio, the Avalanche are looking to replace former bench boss Joe Sacco with former goalie Patrick Roy. As soon as I get more information, I will post it right here on this website. I will also be following the Denver Post and Sirius XM. The news may not come down for a while, so please be patient and follow this website. For those of you who have Sirius XM, you can tune in to channel 92 for the latest from Denver. I will give you my opinion when I know the facts, but so far all we know is that the Avalanche have fired their now former coach Joe Sacco. When I get the news you will be the first to know about it exclusively on the website that never sleeps, Jeremiahboyce.com.

James Sinks Pacers

Miami, Florida. If you are Indiana’s head coach Frank Vogel then you have a lot to be proud of. I keep telling y’all that Paul George reminds me of the former Pacer and now TNT analyst Reggie Miller, and he did it again last night. By doing the unthinkable – getting an unthinkable three pointer that sent the defending NBA champs into overtime. Keep in mind that the kid is only 23 years old. That is incredible when you consider who he is trying to feel the shoes of, the man and an Indiana legend Reggie Miller. I know what you may be saying. The Pacers may be down 0-1, but I choose not to look at the scoreboard. There were several thoughts that went through my head late Wednesday night. If we could get the split out of Miami and be tied at one, this would suit the Pacers just fine. Keep in mind that your blue and gold gave the Heat a solid performance. Usually when you think of the Heat you think it could be a blow out. The Pacers played a super defense all night long, and for the most part held King James in check. You also have to look at the play of “Pyscho T” (aka) Tyler Hansbrough. His play was absolutely beautiful last night, and he was very aggressive. As for the play that won it for Miami, it’s just King James. You’ve got to give him credit, even though you want to blame the Pacers defense. Except for a few mistakes last night, the Pacers played an excellent road game. They still have time to improve for game two, and even if your Pacers should happen to fall down 0-2, keep in mind Pacers fans that Bankers Life Fieldhouse is waiting for the Pacers to return. This is a place where the Pacers have yet to falter in the post season, so even if we go down 0-2, it’s nothing to hang our heads about.

Pacers and Heat to Meet in East Finals

South Beach Miami, FL – Tonight, the Pacers begin the quest for the unthinkable. I am wearing my Tyler Hansbrough jersey right now. So who do you think I think the key is besides Big Roy? The entire Pacers bench. It’s going to come down to keeping the ball when we have possession, and the Indiana bench. If you turn over the ball against the Heat, you’re dead meat. Let’s not ruin what we started, Pacer fans. I think we can battle with the Heat. Case in point, we won the regular season 2 games to 1. You know LBJ is going to get his points, but the key is put a body on him and guard against the 3-pointer. You’re not going to win the series by trading baskets with the Heat, but you will win if you put a body on each and every one of the Heat. I mean don’t be physical, just have your hands up when they have the ball. Do not let them shoot free balls. If the Pacers can play solid basketball and minimize the turnovers, I think the upset of the year has a chance to happen. Only time will tell. You’re going to have to be smart with your adjustments. If the Heat take away your shooting lane, just keep driving to the basket and hold on to the ball very tight. Make them take as much time as you can on the shot clock. Be on the Heat from the opening tip.

Scherzer Sure Thing for Tigers

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)

Cleveland, OH – With the Tigers not off to a good start, #35 at 4-4, the Indians running away with the division early, and the bullpen struggling, the Tigers need to get consistency from their starters. How much more consistent can you be? Throwing a one-hitter, the native of St. Louis, Max Scherzer, had the art of pitching working for him Monday night as he sat-down 22 Indian batters in a row. The Tigers offensively finally woke up. What can you say about the early season that Miguel Cabrera is putting together? The guy is a machine. Let’s face it, he hit 3 home runs in Texas. Even though it was a losing effort for the Tigers, the big man is a threat. #24 Cabrera has a chance to go for back-to-back Triple Crowns. Now if we can just get Justin to get consistent every night when he is on the mound, the Tigers are still a threat to win the whole thing, but the entire pitching cast has to step up. Max Scherzer has an undefeated season going. With the win, he has improved to an impressive 6-0. Now if we can just get Verlander to quit pussyfooting around when he is on the mound and rotate his pitching inside, outside, and around the plate. Keep the ball down. Any other team that sees the ball up will tattoo you, especially Cleveland. I’m not too happy with you right now, Verlander. 4-4 is totally inexcusable. You can pitch better than that, son! Your team has a chance to go for the sweep tonight. If I were you, I’d keep the ball down. That’s one of the reasons that you have been so awful. Will the real Verlander please step forward? I hope you were watching Mad Max last night, because he did everything perfect. That’s why he is undefeated and you are only at 4-4. That is unacceptable for a pitcher who won the Cy Young award. If I was Jim Leyland, I would send you to Toledo until the real Verlander comes out of hibernation.

Tigers Must Win Two Against The Indians

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)

Well Tigers fans, I have some news for you! Your baseball team is starting to look like the Minnesota Twins from last year. I know it’s early in the season, but with the way the Indians are playing, unfortunately I have to give you the number. The Tigers are barely hanging on to 2nd, and the Royals are breathing down their neck! As far as what happened in Texas, that’s over. Most of you know that I tell it like it is, and I think that we will see some major moves after the All Star break. Leyland’s job is in jeopardy if the Tigers don’t win two in Cleveland. As far as the bullpen, the guys look like minor league pitchers at best, and Alex Thomas Avila has nothing to do with this. The last time I checked, he tried to do the best that he can. I am in no way saying that the Tigers look like Toledo, but I think the longer that they have inexcusable performances, the harder it is to keep Jim Leyland around. I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t already on the hot seat. If not, he should be on the hot seat. There are no excuses after Miguel Cabrera’s performance on Sunday night. I would take a long hard look at Jeff Jones to see what he could do better to help the Tiger bullpen, and their starting pitching. If I was Mr. Dombrowski, I would start taking a look at where we are and where we should be. Then I would also start the hunt for a new manager, because obviously the veterans are not responding. If you want to tell me that the game on Sunday night is the Tigers’ downfall, I would say you might be right, because the big man gave you a free run. The big man also hit a bunch of home runs. It all comes down to the art of pitching. The Tigers’ pitching has been absolutely atrocious this year. Earlier in the season I just gave you the facts. The Indians have a chance to bury the Tigers with a two game sweep, and we can’t afford to get swept in this series. It is time for our offense to wake up, and time for our pitchers to come out of hibernation! If that doesn’t happen, I’m afraid the Tigers have nowhere to go but down. The reason I’m so hard on these American League Champions is because I know they can play better baseball than what they have been playing. Every one of those players who wear the old English “D” on their uniforms needs to step up right now! We didn’t get the American League title by pussy footing around, we got the American League title by several players working their butts off! We haven’t seen any consistent pitching out of 35 or the rest of the bullpen for that matter. I am just giving you the fact of the matter, Tigers fans. The way we pay our players, you would think that bats would come alive, and I’m talking about Mr. Fielder and Mr. Cabrera. This is an absolute must win series! Tomorrow on this website Jeremiah will have a more in depth look at the Pacers vs Heat, and a look back at game one with the Tigers vs Indians.
