In spite of a towering home run from Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the American League was able to outlast the National League six to three with help from a couple of Twins. Brian Dozier hit a home run, giving the American League a six to two lead, and Glenn Perkins, who Paul Molitor usually calls on when it is time for the Twins to shut the other team down when it is a save situation for Minnesota. Brian Dozier was going to get left off of the All Star game, but Kansas City manager Ned Yost decided to use him as a reserve, because Brian is having an outstanding year. It is a good thing too, because it would not have been fair; the numbers speak louder than words. Look at what Brian did to the Tigers, he hit a walk off home run. If Yost would not have used him as a reserve, that would have been a crime in my book. Brian is fun to listen to when he talks with Cory and Dan Gladden on the radio. He knows his baseball.
