Jeremiah is Burning!

The University of North Dakota “Fighting Sioux” will always be the “Sioux” to me. Why should the NCAA ruin tradition? All they do is sit in comfy, cozy chairs in Indianapolis, Indiana. Maybe they should fly their behinds to North Dakota and see how many people want the name to stay the same, before they a make a big stink about it. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t the Florida State “Seminoles” get to keep their name when it was challenged? Why is having the mascot of the “Sioux” any different? Perhaps the Board of Higher Education should worry more about getting our Nation’s youth through college with out breaking the bank, instead of a team mascot’s name. If the name is changed, UND will have to change everything in their REA, causing higher tuition costs to UND students in the future.

I completely agree. The Sioux should be proud to have a team named after them. Not to mention a GOOD team! They will always be the Sioux to me as well. Great article
