Just when you thought the Royals were ready to be dethroned off their royal thrones… not so fast, my friends. The Indians are not so invincible after all. Minnesota has been helping the Royals out. What was once an insurmountable lead is no more. The Royals have been cutting in, because the Indians have been losing to the Minnesota Twins. They are only 9 games behind with plenty of baseball left to play. Tampa Bay fell to 0-5 against the defending World Champions last night at the “Trop.” Meanwhile, Minnesota hammered Cleveland 10-6, cutting the Indians lead over the defending World Series Champions to 9 games. Don’t count the defending Champs out until the calendar reads October. They still have plenty of time to make it into the Wild Card situation. Dayton Moore did not make any moves at the trade deadline, because he believes in the baseball team that he has on the field. He believes in his manager, Ned Yost. The Royals are 2-0 in August, so far, ladies and gentlemen. Whether or not they can remain hot and get themselves into the Wild Card position is still yet to be determined. They are in a perfect position. No one is talking about them, except for this website right here. The Royals are going to be this year’s sleeper baseball team, because no one is talking about them. Everyone has them buried, even though they are the defending Champions.
