With the Bismarck Bobcats trying to go after hockey’s ultimate prize, they already have one championship, the Central Cup, which they obtained by knocking off the two-time defending champion Austin Bruins. Sometimes you just run into hotter teams. I’m not ready to say goodbye to the Bobcats yet, but if we have to, we have to give credit to the Wichita Falls Wildcats. This game will tell us how much the Bismarck Bobcats really want to play, and if they want to be in the Robertson Cup Tournament. I know they want to be there, but they fell a little bit short in game one. Our players have a lot of heart, and so do our coaches. I interview them every Wednesday, and anyone who wears a cat on their uniform will not quit until the final buzzer goes off. So just because Wichita Falls is up one game to nothing doesn’t mean they can punch their ticket to Sunday. Layne Sedevie, Hunter Shepard, and the rest of the players and coaches will have something to say about that. So will assistant coach Garrett Roth, and so will the people that work for the Bismarck Bobcats, including Staff Writer Jeremiah Boyce. You have got to give credit to the former Bozeman Ice Dog and current Wichita Falls head coach, John LaFontaine. He had a better game plan last night. His team was ready to play. You have to give the Wildcats credit for last night, but tonight is a new game. The Bobcats are going to come out with a lot of energy. If I know Layne and Coach Roth like I do, they won’t let the team roll over. Only time will tell.
