We will never see another human being like Jeff Gordon ever again. You can bet the pressure is on them to defend their title from a year ago. This is Jeff Gordon’s finale at Indy. Once the checkered flag flies on this edition of the Brickyard, there will be no more Jeff Gordon in Indianapolis as a race car driver. For those of us who are Hoosiers, this is our last chance to enjoy Super-G as a race car driver. It would be cool if he won on his final trip to the Brickyard. He won in 1994, 1998, 2001, when this reporter was there, 2004, and again last year, for his fifth time. Even though I am hoping for someone from my home state to kiss the bricks, I wouldn’t mind seeing Super-G do it, because it is his final time at Indy. As far as the new package at Indy goes, I am tired of NASCAR trying new packages. I wish they would leave it alone, and let the drivers decide the race. Too many packages, Robin Pemberton and Mike Helton. If you want to go with a package that will make the competition better, then fine, go with it, but not in the middle of the season. Find one and leave it alone.
