All the blood, sweat and tears that the boys have been sweating for each other has come down to one series for now. It comes down to playing their interstate rival for a chance to move on towards the ultimate goal, the Central Cup, and later in May, the Robertson Cup. I will take Bobcat fans inside the locker room of both teams. But first, your Bismarck Bobcats have made thirteen trips down this road. The Minotauros have made three trips, but have yet to taste glory, and they will not taste it this year! The Bobcats have won the Central cup five times, before being dethroned at the hands of the Bruins last year. They are looking to get back at Austin, but first they need to get by Marty’s boys.

Coach Sedevie was nice enough to sit down one on one with the Sheriff, and talk Bobcat hockey with the Sheriff’s Patrol. We talked about his team’s recent obsession with the penalty box. His message to his charges were clear. Keep your sticks down, or the ref will be looking for stick penalties. When it came to his captain, Sedevie spoke glowingly about the third year player and captain from Naperville, Illinois. Layne said that Giesler makes a great Junior hockey player, and he will make a great Air Force player, because he is strong on his stick. He compared the Bobcats’ rivalry with the Minotauros and the Bruins, with the Penguins and Flyers, or the Chicago Black Hawks and the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL.
