Listening to the Motor Racing Network (MRN) on Sunday, begged the question: “What would the late Benny Parsons say about Jimmie ‘Yarborough’ Johnson?”  That came to mind after remembering that Benny had raced against Cale Yarborough.  Jimmie Johnson is no Dale Earnhardt Sr., but the way in which he has grabbed the sport by the gas pedal reminds me of him a lot.  Jimmie now stands one race away from tying Yarborough’s record, which has me wondering if he can equal his car owner and possible next victim, Jeff Gordon?  All Johnson has to do is finish 36th or better and we will witness the beginning of a new dynasty.
