Minneapolis – There were plenty of fireworks between the second place Minnesota Twins and the third place Detroit Tigers.  Both teams were red hot going into the game.  After the Tigers were trying to hit Joe Mauer while he was at bat, the ire in Ron Gardenhire was drawn and brought him out of the Twins dugout and face-to-face with the home plate umpire. who promptly tossed him out of the game.  This was doubly bad news for the Twins, who went on to take a 5-4 loss.
